Behind the Service: Alan DeLuce
Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) are two emerging technologies recently adapted by Commercial Service. These two, little acronyms mean big changes not only for Commercial Service, but also their commercial clients. BIM and VDC are complex subjects, but thankfully we’ve got Alan DeLuce, Commercial Service’s BIM and VDC Manager, on our team.
As a newer employee, Alan has already brought a lot to the table. Integrating the BIM and VDC technologies has improved the way Commercial Service plans and implements HVAC and plumbing in commercial buildings. “We’re taking generic stuff and turning it into real pipefittings. We’re taking things to a higher level of development,” Alan explains.
The Partner You Can Trust is more than a slogan to Alan—it’s second nature. “While, of course, I’m looking out for Commercial Service’s best interest, I’m also looking out for our clients at all times.”
If you’re interested in learning more about the importance of BIM and VDC, check out this blog and watch Alan’s video below:
Virtually designing and constructing, you build a building before you build the building. In doing so, you find the problems. My name is Alan DeLuce and I am the BIM & VDC Manager here at Commercial Service.
BIM is kind of the design side of the ADC industry. The information is really the big part of BIM: Building Information Modeling. Whereas the VDC side is more on the contractor’s side, our side, where we’re taking what is a BIM, and we’re saying, “Okay, this is somewhat theoretical. Let’s now make it happen. Let’s make it work.” We’re taking generic stuff and turning it into real pipefittings. We’re taking things to a higher level of development for what we do.
The Partner You Can Trust means that while, of course, I’m looking out for Commercial Service’s best interests, I’m also looking out for our clients’ at all times.
