Behind the Service: Aaron Posey
Have you ever wondered who designs the new HVAC system for your home? Aaron Posey, Residential Field Support, has been with Commercial Service for over six years, and has over 14 years in the HVAC industry. A typical work day for Aaron consists of running service calls, installing HVAC equipment, or preparing a system design for a home.
Born in Oregon, Aaron and his family moved to Ellettsville, Indiana in 1999. He graduated at Edgewood High School in 2004. Aaron is now married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica, and they have two children, Savanna and Owen. They enjoy riding bikes, fishing, and spending quality time together.
Aaron started on-the-job training straight out of high school and attended several technical training programs. He grew up around the building trades and has always been a hands-on person so had some knowledge of the aspects of the job.
“HVAC/Plumbing technicians can have a rewarding career without necessarily having a four-year college degree. The demand continues to increase all the time so it offers great career stability.”
Aaron describes his job as both mentally and physically demanding but through teamwork the team is able to conquer even the most challenging jobs. He enjoys being able to use complex problem-solving skills to diagnose problems. And we can say he’s pretty good at it too.
“I love being able to meet different people in our community and provide excellent service to them. Every day is different for me and I never know exactly what my day will entail. I’m thankful for a career that allows me to provide for my family while doing something that I enjoy.”
Curious about what a normal day looks like for Aaron? His duties range from day-to-day but may include technical support, HVAC equipment installation and service, and system designs for customers' homes. Looking back at why Aaron came to work for Commercial Service, he had a few things to say:
“Commercial Service has always had the reputation of being a great place to work. When the opportunity was presented to me to join the Commercial Service team, I was ecstatic. For being a larger company, Commercial Service has always managed to maintain a family atmosphere with the company and employees. You’re not just labeled as a number like large competitors.”
As technology changes, the HVAC industry changes with it. Aaron has seen many changes during the past 14 years and is excited to see what develops in the future. In this industry, we see changes and advancements almost daily. Our manufacturers and local supply companies help keep us up-to-date and offer classes to go over the newest regulations/standards as they are approaching to be released to the market. For instance, Commercial Service team members go through the proper EPA standards for the reclaiming and recycling process of the old refrigerant. They also break down the old equipment and recycle it.
