The more you know...

To me, the ‘Partner that you can trust’ in Commercial Service means that our customers can depend on us to be there when we’re supposed to, to do the work we’re supposed to do, and leave it in a better spot than when we came.

My name is Jerry Clayton. Position is Install Manager. I’ve been here at Commercial Service for 28 years in June. My responsibilities in the beginning was a helper, and I worked in the residential department for probably two years. And then I switched to the commercial part of the company and I’ve been here for probably the last 25 to 26 years.

We do a lot of commercial install. So, we install the equipment for the heating and cooling, exhaust, all the duct work, registers, and then we balance the systems to make sure they work right.

I’ll be fully retired soon—right now I’m semi-retired. I still work part-time. The thing I’d probably miss the most about working at Commercial Service is probably the people you work with. After you leave, you don’t always keep in touch with everybody like you probably could or should. But that’d probably be the most thing I’d miss, was the people I work with.

Commercial Installation

Jerry Clayton was one of Commercial Service’s senior employees. He began his career as a Helper, worked his way up to a Commercial Install Manager, and has served on our team for 28 years. After nearly three decades of dedication, he was excited to ease into retirement.

Jerry’s role allowed him to work directly with prominent companies in our community. Much of his time was spent at local businesses maintaining and installing their HVAC equipment. He also ensured that each system his team installed was inspected and balanced thoroughly before being put into operation.

When Jerry retired, he knew that he'd miss his fellow team members the most. “After you leave, you don’t always keep in touch with everybody like you probably could or should,” he said. “But that’d probably be the most thing I’d miss, was the people I work with.”

We may be sad to see him go, but Commercial Service was incredibly lucky to have Jerry on our team. We wish him all the best for his many years of retirement to come!
